A delegation led by Somalia’s Minister for Defense, Abdihakiin Haji Fiqi has today arrived in Jowhar, the Headquarters of the Middle Shabelle Province.

The delegation partly walked and drove for more than 90 Kilometers without meeting any skirmishes or ambush by the Al-Shabab fighters.

The Minister who was accompanied by senior government and AMISOM officials later revealed that his forces will carry on its offensive against the Al-Shabab and noted that Buula-Barde was now their next target.

On yesterday, Al-Shabab vacated Jowhar and Mahadaay thereby paving the way for the Somali forces and their AMISOM counterparts to move in and to take over its control peacefully.
