Kenya’s Prime Minister, Raila Odinga has urged Somali Nationals to return to their motherland since he said; the situation had greatly improved there.
The Prime Minister who was reacting to the rising insecurity
in the country and the recent grenade attack in Nairobi’s Eastleigh district that
killed 5 and injured several others which includes area MP, Yusuf Hassan.
The Prime Minister called for the relocation of refugees
especially those camping in Dadaab to Somalia.
He said terror cells have sneaked into these camps and are
hiding among the civilian population thereby enabling them to launch deadly
attacks in several towns including the capital city, Nairobi and Mombasa.
Such attacks have also being witnessed in several Somali
inhabited towns including Garissa, Wajir and Mandera in Northern Kenya
Bomb blasts, Grenade attacks and ambushes on security forces
have being on the increase since Kenya’s incursion into Somalia in 2010.
Many high ranking Kenyan government officials share the
premier’s sentiments; that all illegal Somali immigrants and refugees should be
deported to their country.
However such moves of relocating refugees to Somalia are
opposed by international Organizations like UNHCR - The UN Refugee Agency and
the organization of Doctors without Borders.
