Al-Shabab leader, Ahmed Abdi Godane alias Abu Zubeyr has released yet another recorded audio message to the Somali public and to the neighboring states.
Ahmed Godane first attacked Kenya and Ethiopia for invading
Somalia, as he put it.
He claimed that his Shabab fighters were able to carry out
direct attacks inside Kenya.
The Kenyan forces, as he put, were powerless to deter such attacks
so far and his forces have successfully carried out several bombings,
explosions, and gunfire and grenade attacks inside Kenyan territory.
Mr. Godane called on the Somali people to resist and defend
themselves and their religion against what he called invaders.
He said Somalis in Ethiopia and Kenya were living in infidel
states.
He described the recent death of former Ethiopian Prime
Minister, Meles Zanawi as a victory to the Muslims and as a sign that all the
obstacles and hardships facing them will be overcome one day.
This message is coming at a time when Al-Shabab is already
on the back foot and has recently lost a string of key towns and territories to
AU and Somali troops.
