A high level Djiboutian delegation led by its Speaker of Parliament has today landed Mogadishu’s Aden Abdulle International Airport.
The delegation led by Idris Arnaa’ud Ali, the Djiboutian
house Speaker, was received at the airport by senior Somali Government
officials and Djiboutian peacekeepers.
Mr. Idris told the press that his arrival in Mogadishu is
intended to boost relations and corporations between the two East African countries.
He also addressed the Somali parliament where he urged the
members to always serve in the best interests of the Somali people whom they
represent.
On the other hand, Somalia’s Speaker of Parliament, Prof.
Osman Jawari expressed delight and gratitude for the visit paid by his
Djiboutian counterpart, Mr. Idris.
Djibouti is one of the few countries who have contributed
troops to the AU peacekeeping mission in Somalia and its troops are currently
deployed in Baladweyne and some parts of Mogadishu.
